IOWA CITY, Iowa – Fran McCaffery’s University of Iowa men’s basketball team will continue its “March to Manhattan” on Wednesday (Mar. 27) when the Hawkeyes meet the Atlantic Coast Conference’s University of Virginia in a quarterfinal game of the 2013 National Invitation Tournament. The game will tip shortly after 6 p.m. Iowa time and will be televised live on ESPN2.
Iowa will carry a 23-12 record into its game with the Cavaliers, a mark that includes victories over Indiana State and Stony Brook in first and second round games of the NIT. Virginia improved to 23-11 with its 68-50 over St. John’s Sunday in Charlottesville.
The winner advances to New York City and will play in one of two semifinal games scheduled for Monday, April 2, in Madison Square Garden.
Tickets for Virginia’s NIT quarterfinal game go on sale at 9 a.m. on Monday, March 25. Reserved tickets are $10 each in both the upper and lower levels of John Paul Jones Arena. Seating in sections 102-104 and 111-114 will be reserved for purchase by Virginia Athletics Foundation donors until Monday, March 25 at 5 p.m.
Additionally, the lower areas of sections 101-105 and the lower level bleachers (sections 116-119) are reserved for UVa students. Seating in all other sections is available for purchase by the public. Remaining unsold inventory in sections 102-104 and 111-114 will be available to the public for purchase after 5 p.m. on Monday, March 25.
Tickets may be purchased online at VirginiaSports.com. Fans may also purchase tickets through the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office by telephone and in person. The ticket office is located in Bryant Hall at Scott Stadium and open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Telephone purchases can be made by calling 800-542-UVA1 (8821) or locally at 434-924-UVA1 (8821).
Parking will be free of charge and available on a first-come, first served basis in the John Paul Jones Arena, University Hall and McCue Center parking lots and the Emmet/Ivy Parking Garage. The John Paul Jones Arena Garage will be reserved for permit holders. The University Hall and John Paul Jones Arena parking lots are also available for baseball fans attending Wednesday’s game against Towson that starts at 5 p.m.
