Garret Dunn Named Academic All-America

IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa men’s tennis senior Garret Dunn has been named to the 2013 Capital One Academic All-America third team. The announcement was made today by the College Sports Information Directors of America. The award recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

Dunn, a senior from Tempe, Ariz., earned a 3.99 grade point average while majoring in finance and accounting. He is a two-time academic all-district and All-Big Ten honoree, and has been named to the President’s List three and Dean’s List six times.

Dunn was named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar award winner in 2012. He finished his career with 36 singles victories, and in 2012 he was named Iowa’s Most Valuable Player after leading the team in Big Ten victories.
