IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa head men’s gymnastics coach JD Reive announced the 2013-14 regular season schedule Tuesday. The schedule features three appearances inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
The Hawkeyes open action with the Black and Gold Scrimmage on Dec. 8 before hitting the road to start regular season action at the Windy City Invitational, hosted by UIC on Jan. 18. The squad continues its road swing with a matchup at Oklahoma (Feb. 1) before returning to Iowa City for a pair of Big Ten competitions against Illinois (Feb. 7) and a double dual against Minnesota and Nebraska (Feb. 15).
Iowa is on the road for the remainder of the season competing in the Winter Cup (Feb. 20-22), at Illinois Chicago (Feb. 23), in the Arnold Classic (March 1), at Minnesota (March 8), and at Nebraska (March 15). The Big Ten Championships are scheduled for March 28-29 at Nebraska, while the NCAA Championships run April 10-12 at Michigan.
The Hawkeyes finished fifth nationally in 2012-13, marking the program’s best finish since 2000.
