Field Hockey to Make 8 BTN Appearances

Sept. 26, 2013

IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa field hockey team will make at least eight appearances on the Big Ten Network or Big Ten Digital Network during the 2013 season, the most of any league field hockey team.

The Hawkeyes will make their 2013 BTN debut Friday at Northwestern (2 p.m. CT). Iowa can also be seen live on BTN on Oct. 25 at 2 p.m. (CT), when it hosts Penn State at Grant Field.

The Big Ten Digital Network will carry six Hawkeye contests, including Iowa’s first round (quarterfinal) Big Ten Tournament matchup (Nov. 7). The Hawkeyes have been on BTDN twice already (North Carolina – Sept. 8, Stanford – Sept. 15), and have three more games scheduled (Missouri State – Oct. 7, Indiana – Oct. 11, Pacific – Oct. 13). The five regular season contests available on BTDN are the most of any league team.

The semifinals (Nov. 8) and final match (Nov. 10) of the Big Ten Tournament, slated for Columbus, Ohio, can be seen live on BTN.

Iowa (5-3) — ranked 14th in the latest Penn Monto/NFHCA rankings — continues action Friday at No. 12 Northwestern in its conference opener. The Hawkeyes and Wildcats will meet at 2 p.m. (CT). The match can be seen live on the Big Ten Network.
