Hawkeyes Tied for Fifth After Two Rounds

AUSTIN, Texas — The University of Iowa women’s golf team sits in a tie for fifth after two rounds of action today at the Challenge at Onion Creek hosted by Texas State. The Hawkeyes shot a 279 in the opening round and a 292 in the second round to finish the day 29 over par.

Sophomore Briana Midkiff paced the black and gold carding a 73 (+3) and a 72 (+2) in the first and second rounds respectively. Midkiff’s score sits her in a tie for 8th place.

Freshman Jessie Sindlinger fired five birdies to finish the day tied for 12th with a score of 146 (+6).

Junior Lauren English also landed in the top-20. English sits tied for 19th with a two round total of 148 (+8).

Junior Shelby Phillips carded a 150 (+10) to finish tied for 24th. Junior Nicole Rae is tied for 30th place with a score of 153 (+13).

Freshman Allison Lindley is competing in the tournament as an individual. Lindley finished the first two rounds with a 156 (+15).

The Hawkeyes resume action at the Challenge at Onion Creek tomorrow with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. (CT). Live scoring is available at the Iowa women’s golf schedule page and via birdiefire.com.
