IOWA CITY, Iowa — The Big Ten Conference announced its women’s basketball television plans for the 2014 conference season on Tuesday. The University of Iowa women’s basketball team has eight contests during league play scheduled for live television.

Home contests on Mediacom Court inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena against Indiana (Jan. 25), Northwestern (Feb. 10) and Illinois (Feb. 13) will be broadcast on BTN. Iowa’s home finale versus Ohio State (Feb. 27) will be shown live on BTN or the Big Ten Digital Network (BTDN).

The Hawkeyes can be seen on BTN for road games at Ohio State (Jan. 19), Penn State (Feb. 6), and Michigan (Feb. 22). In addition, Iowa’s regular season finale at Illinois on March 2 will be shown live on BTN or BTDN.

The Big Ten Digital Network (BTDN) will also stream numerous other conference games throughout the season. That schedule will be finalized at a later date, in addition to other television information.

For the seventh consecutive season, every game of the Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament, which will take place March 6-9 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, will be televised to a national audience. BTN will carry the first 10 games of the tournament, while the championship game will be televised by ESPN at noon (CT) on Sunday, March 9.

Hawkeye fans can get their first look at the 2013-14 squad at the Black and Gold Blowout on Oct. 25, set for 8 p.m. (CT) inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Iowa — the only Big Ten team to appear in the last six NCAA Tournaments — hosts Concordia-St. Paul in an exhibition on Nov. 3 (1 p.m.) before opening the regular season in the Hawkeye Challenge on Nov. 8 against UC Riverside (6 p.m.).
