IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa women’s tennis team travels to New Haven, Conn. this weekend to compete at the Bulldog Invitational hosted by Yale University. The three-day tournament begins on Friday, Oct. 4. Annette Dohanics, Caitlin Hindmarsh, Ellen Silver, Shelby Talcott, Aimee Tarun and Katie Zordani will compete for the Hawkeyes.
In addition to Iowa, the eight-team field includes Virginia Tech, Boston College, Dartmouth, Brown, Yale, Purdue and Penn State. Four of the teams finished last season ranked in the top 64 in the final 2013 ITA rankings.
“This weekend will be another challenge for us,” said UI head coach Katie Dougherty. “We played against some strong competition in the opening week and this tournament will be no different. Yale has invited some quality teams with great individual players. Now it’s time to go out there and compete.”
