IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa head basketball coach Fran McCaffery announced today that junior Josh Oglesby broke a bone in his right foot during Wednesday night’s practice. The shooting guard is scheduled to have surgery today and is expected to miss approximately six weeks.
Oglesby (6-foot-5, 208 pounds) played in 37 contests, including two starts, a year ago. The native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, scored 126 of his 165 points from 3-point territory his sophomore campaign.
“Josh has played great in preseason practices and this is an unfortunate setback,” said McCaffery. “We expect Josh to make a full recovery and look forward to him returning in time for conference play.”
Iowa opens its season tonight when it hosts UNC Wilmington at 8:32 p.m. (CT) on Mediacom Court at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
