Women's Hoops Cracks AP Top 25 Poll

Dec. 2, 2013

IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa women’s basketball team cracked the Associated Press Top 25 poll this week, ranking 25th with 93 votes.

The Hawkeyes (8-1) have won four-straight overall — all coming away from Iowa City. Iowa won at Northern Iowa, 67-60, on Nov. 20, before winning three contests at the Cancun Challenge by double digits. The Hawkeyes defeated Southern California (78-65), Boston College (78-68), and UNC-Wilmington (102-65).

Connecticut is the only team in the top 25 poll with more victories (nine) than the Hawkeyes.

Iowa hosts No. 22 Syracuse on Thursday in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. (CT) on Mediacom Court at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The game will be broadcast live on the Big Ten Network.
