IOWA CITY, Iowa – Registration opens Monday, Feb. 17, for the fourth annual Ladies’ Football Academy, to be held on Saturday, June 7, 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at historic Kinnick Stadium.

This ladies-only event offers women an intensive, one-day, total immersion into Hawkeye Football, and the opportunity to team up with Kirk Ferentz and the Iowa Hawkeyes to benefit University of Iowa Children’s Hospital. Participants can win exclusive Hawkeye Football prize packages, including diamond necklaces and game tickets/sideline passes.

For more information on the event and how to register to participate, go to IowaFootballLadies Academy.com.

Ladies Football Academy has pledged $1 million to the new Children’s Hospital, currently under construction next to Kinnick Stadium. The first three Academies have raised over $717,000. This year is “4th & Goal”, as the goal is to reach that million dollar pledge at this year’s event.

Honorary captains for the 2014 Ladies Football Academy are sisters, Megan (12) and Natalie (8), from Des Moines, Iowa. Diagnosed as toddlers, both girls suffer with Juvenile Arthritis and are patients at the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital. While it is often difficult to diagnose and not commonly associated with children, over 300,000 children, under the age of 18, suffer from some form of Juvenile Arthritis in the United States. Until recent advances in aggressive treatments, Juvenile Arthritis was one of the most common disablers of children. To watch Megan and Natalie’s story, IowaFootballLadies Academy.com.
