IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa women’s tennis team hosts Chicago State on Saturday at 1 p.m. (CT) at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Center.
The Hawkeyes are 5-3 overall, and 4-1 at home. Iowa has won two in a row, including a 7-0 win over UMKC on Tuesday.
Chicago State is 3-9 overall and recently lost a 5-2 decision to Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The Cougars are led by freshman Kirsa Utech, a Germany native that improved to 6-6 overall with a 6-4, 6-3 win over UNI at the top singles position.
Saturday’s match was scheduled to be UI Kids’ Day at the HTRC, but inclement weather has forced Iowa to reschedule kids’ day for Sunday, March 30, prior to the Hawkeyes’ match against Michigan State at 11 a.m. (CT). Kids of all ages will receive free pizza and are invited to participate in a Wii tennis challenge beginning at 10 a.m. (CT).
