DALLAS, Texas — The University of Iowa women’s golf team is tied for 12th in a field of 16 teams after firing a 315 (+27) in the opening round of the Dallas Athletic Club Invitational today. The 3-day, 54-hole tournament is hosted by the SMU Mustangs.
Allison Lindley led the Black and Gold. The freshman cracked the top-20, tying for 18th place with a 76 (+4).
Junior Shelby Phillips finished the day close behind, carding a 77 (+5) to sit tied for 27th.
Senior Karly Grouwinkel sits tied for 53rd after shooting an 80 (+8) in the opening round.
Freshman Jessie Sindlinger fired an 82 (+10) to tie for 67th place on the leaderboard.
Sophomore Briana Midkiff rounded out the Hawkeye lineup. Midkiff fired an 86 (+14) to tie for 81st.
Iowa resumes action tomorrow at the Dallas Athletic Club Invitational. Tee times are set to begin at 8:00 a.m. (CT). Live scoring will be available at golfstat.com throughout the tournament.
