Trey Dickerson Granted Release to Transfer

IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa head men’s basketball coach Fran McCaffery announced Monday that Trey Dickerson has decided to transfer from the program and has been granted a full release from his scholarship.

“We appreciate the contributions Trey made during his time here,” said McCaffery. “Trey has a bright future and we wish him all the best moving forward.”

Dickerson, who intends on finishing the spring semester enrolled at Iowa before transferring, came to Iowa after one season of junior college basketball at Williston State in North Dakota. The 6-foot point guard averaged 2.7 points, 1.2 assists and 0.5 rebounds in 15 games this season with the Hawkeyes.

“I appreciate the staff and Hawkeye nation for showing me love,” Dickerson said. “I enjoyed my time here by I have to do what’s best for me.”

Iowa (17-10, 8-6) returns to action Wednesday when it hosts Illinois (17-10, 7-7). Tipoff is set for 8:06 p.m. (CT) on Mediacom Court at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
