IOWA CITY, Iowa — The UI Athletics Department, UI Alumni Association, and Winebrenner Red Carpet Travel of Iowa City today announced a partnership that will make it easier than ever for fans of the nationally ranked Iowa football team to travel to postseason bowl games involving the Hawkeyes beginning, of course, with the 2015 bowl season.
The partnership will take decades of experience in bowl game tour planning and execution by the three entities individually and merge that expertise into one “Official University of Iowa Bowl Tour.”
“The goal was to make it easy and simple for fans of our football team to `Go Bowling’ with the Iowa Hawkeyes. One telephone number and one web site address to arrange for travel to the bowl game destination on the one and only official bowl tour of the University of Iowa and the Iowa Hawkeyes,” said Gary Barta, the UI’s director of athletics.
Iowa defeated Illinois earlier today 29-2o at historic Kinnick Stadium. The win was No. 6 for the 2015 Hawkeyes which means they are eligible to participate in a postseason bowl game for the 14th time under Kirk Ferentz. The Hawkeyes will learn their bowl game destination on Sunday, Dec. 6.

“Iowa’s renowned traveling fan base will have access to an exciting variety of travel options and on-location experiences. We look forward to providing fans of the Hawkeyes with an outstanding bowl experience,” said Jeff Kueter, president and CEO of the UI Alumni Association (www.iowalum.com).
The association provides alumni and other friends of the University and fans of the Hawkeyes numerous travel options annually including travel to bowl games. Kueter’s staff is also responsible for coordinating travel to and from the bowl destination and on-site accommodations for University of Iowa officials and others like the Board of Regents and special guests of the UI.
“Winebrenner Red Carpet Travel is excited to partner with the University of Iowa Alumni Association and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Together we will provide Iowa fans with the absolute finest Hawkeye bowl experience,” said Terry Tegen of Winebrenner Red Carpet Travel.
Tegen and the staff at Winebrenner have also been in the bowl game tour business for more than three decades. They also offer travel options to select regular season UI football and men’s basketball events, operate the annual “Hawkeye Cruise,” and assist the UI Athletics Department on its travel needs year round.
