IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa guard Ally Disterhoft has been named to the 2015-16 coaches preseason All-Big Ten Team, the Big Ten Conference announced today.

The junior, a two-year returning starter and team-elected co-captain, was a second team All-Big Ten selection in 2015 and an honorable mention All-Big Ten honoree in 2014. She was also named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team and Big Ten All-Tournament Team in 2014.
Disterhoft started every game of her sophomore season and 17 as a freshman. She has played in every game of her collegiate career.
The Iowa City, Iowa, native currently ranks 34th in program history in scoring with 977 points. Disterhoft, who has reached double digits in scoring in 45-of-51 career starts, led Iowa in points (503) and points per game (14.8) last season.
Disterhoft also excelled off the court, adding Academic All-Big Ten, Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, and Dean’s List honors to her resume. She was named a third team CoSIDA Captial One Academic All-American as well, the only sophomore to earn the award in 2014.
Iowa opens the 2015-16 season inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena, Nov. 13-15. The squad will face North Dakota and UT Martin as a part of the annual Hawkeye Challenge.
