• Iowa trailed by 14 points with 10:14 left in the second half to Dayton, rallied to take the lead by four points with 2:35 left in the second half, but the Flyers closed the game on an 11-2 run to win by five points.

• Iowa bench scored 23 points, led by redshirt freshman Brady Ellingson‘s nine points (3-of-5 3-point FG). Ellingson’s nine points scored on a personal-best three 3-pointers were all scored in the second half.

• Iowa equaled a career high with 12 3-pointers (12-of-24) in Thursday’s loss to Dayton. The Hawkeyes have drained 12 triples in each of the last three contests. Jarrod Uthoff made four 3-pointers against Dayton. The Hawkeyes have had three different players sink four 3-pointers in three of its four games (Jarrod Uthoff; Peter Jok; Dale Jones).

Anthony Clemmons dished out a team-high six assists to go along with 11 points.

• Redshirt freshman and walk-on Nicholas Baer played 16 meaningful minutes, scoring two points, grabbing a game-high four offensive rebounds, and take a defensive charge.

• Point guard Mike Gesell played only two first-half minutes after being whistled for two quick fouls. The Hawkeye senior scored seven points and was credited with three assists in the second half.

Jarrod Uthoff is shooting at a 50 percent clip from the field (24-of-48) and 3-point territory (9-of-18) through four games.

Adam Woodbury grabbed a game and season-best eight rebounds and scored six points, bolstered by a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line, in 23 minutes of action against Dayton.
