24 Hawkeyes to Watch
IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa women’s gymnastics program invites all fans and alumni to experience the new facility prior to 2016 NCAA Regional competition. The GymHawks host an open house from 1-3 p.m. (CT) at the facility — located inside the UI Field House — on April 2.
The new facility doubles the footprint of the former facility, provides an elite training environment, and allows Hawkeye student-athletes to expand their skill sets safely.
After touring the practice facility, fans are encouraged to watch the Hawkeyes’ preparations come to fruition during NCAA Regional competition. No. 19 Iowa hosts No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 12 Nebraska, No. 13 Arkansas, No. 30 Kent State, and No. 35 Central Michigan. Competition begins at 4 p.m. (CT) on Saturday, April 2, inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Iowa has had representation at every NCAA Regionals since 2005 — with three seasons of individual representation and nine team appearances. Libby has led Iowa to nine NCAA postseason appearances in 12 seasons.
Fans can purchase tickets by calling the University of Iowa Athletics Ticket Office at (319) 335-9323 between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (CT).
