BLOOMINGTON, Indiana — Five crews from the University of Iowa scrimmaged with crews from Indiana and Wisconsin on Saturday. The crews ran four flights over a 1,000-meter course on Lake Lemon. The crews were not able to scrimmage on Friday due to high winds. UI head coach Andrew Carter was pleased with how his crews performed.

“The margins among the three teams kept the pieces very interesting and it was a great opportunity for us to learn about where we are and where we need to go,” he said.

“We’ve had a good first few weeks of training this fall and I like the competitive spirit I saw from all of our crews out there today. They showed great composure against two great teams and that should give them confidence as they head into more formal competition at both the Head of the Charles and the Jayhawk Jamboree in two weeks.”

The Hawkeyes return to the water Oct. 22-23 in Lawrence, Kansas and Boston, Massachusetts.
