- The University of Iowa men’s tennis team hosts DePaul and No. 2 Ohio State Friday inside the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex.
- The Hawkeyes will match up first against the Blue Demons at 11 a.m. (CT).
- Iowa takes on the Buckeyes at 6 p.m. (CT).
- On Sunday, Iowa faces Penn State at 11 a.m. (CT).
- Sunday’s match is slated to be played outside, weather permitting.
- Admission is free to the public to all three matches.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
DePaul
- DePaul is 11-8 on the year.
- They have not won an away match this season.
- Freshman Cristopher Casati is 10-4 in singles action.
- The Blue Demons lost to Purdue earlier in the season.
- The Hawkeyes lead the all-time series, 9-3.
No. 2 Ohio State
- The Buckeyes have four nationally ranked singles players: No. Mikael Torpegaard, No. 4 Hugo Di Feo, No. 93 Kerkko Pollanen, No. 98 J.J. Wolf.
- Two Ohio State doubles teams are nationally ranked: No. 10 Pollanen/Torpegaard and No. 56 Feo/Martin Joyce.
- The Buckeyes have only dropped three of their 21 matches this season.
- All three losses came on the road to ranked teams.
- Penn State, Michigan State, and No. 16 Michigan have all lost to Ohio State this season.
