13 Hawkeyes Head to New York for U.S. Open

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Thirteen University of Iowa swimmers will compete at the U.S. Open Championship Series from Aug. 2-6 in East Meadow, New York.  The long-course competition will be held at the Nassau County Aquatics Center.
 
Representing the Iowa men’s team will be seniors Jerzy Twarowski, Thomas Rathbun, and RJ Hemmingsen, juniors Jack Smith and Tanner Nelson, and sophomores Joe Myhre, Weston Credit, Will Scott, and Steve Fiolic.
 
Women’s competitors include: seniors Meghan Lavelle, Tereysa Lehnertz, and Mekenna Scheitlin, and sophomore Hannah Burvill.
 
Preliminary heats begin at 8 a.m. (CT) each day; finals are at 4 p.m.
