IOWA CITY, Iowa — Nick Easley is one of the new wide receivers this season. The Newton, Iowa, native will be a junior this season after spending the last two seasons at Iowa Western Community College. Easley spoke with hawkeyesports.com Saturday at its annual Media Day in Iowa City.

How does it feel to be a Hawkeye?
“It’s amazing. It has been a dream of mine since I was a kid. To be a part of the program, being able to get in here, and go through the things we go through every day is a dream come true.”
 
What does it feel like, knowing you will be playing in Kinnick Stadium?
“I’m excited honestly. I’ve been in there a lot as a kid. Going in there as a fan is such an incredible atmosphere. I am excited about it.”
 
What are you looking forward to most this season?
“The team and the work that we’ve put in during the offseason and seeing all of that come together.”
 
34211What do you love most about Iowa City?
“Everything about it; I have so many friends, and ever since I’ve been here, I’ve met so many great friends. All of my extended family lives here, my grandma and both of my aunts, a lot of my family lives around here.”
 
What are your personal goals for the season?
“Personally, I’m not worried about that with catches or anything like that. I just want to do whatever I can to contribute and help the team and help us reach our goals.”
 
What has it been like working with the Iowa coaching staff?
“It has been good. Coach (Kelton) Copeland, the receivers coach, has helped me a lot and I have grown since I’ve been here. Whether it’s technique or attitude and taking it to the field, he’s helping me a lot.”
 
What do you like to do in your spare time?
“I don’t have a ton of spare time, but hanging out with my friends. I like to watch to Netflix. (Breaking Bad and the Walking Dead are his favorite shows).
 
What’s your favorite app on your phone?
“I probably use Snapchat the most. It’s fun to use with my friends.”
 
If you had to choose four of your teammates/coaches to be on your family feud team, who would you choose?
“I’m going to take Dominique Dafney, he’s pretty witty and quick thinker. I’ll take Coach Copeland, he’s a funny dude. Brandon Bishop and then Matt VandeBerg.”
 
If you could have any superpower what would you pick?
“I’d be able to fly, that’s pretty cool.”
