UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The 19th-ranked University of Iowa field hockey team fell to No. 2 Penn State Friday evening, 3-0.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
The first half consisted of good defense and solid goaltending from each side. Penn State broke the tie in the 32nd minute, scoring on a penalty corner. The Nittany Lions took a 1-0 lead into halftime. Penn State added its second goal in the 37th minute, and scored its third goal in the 58th minute to secure the 3-0 victory. The Nittany Lions improve to 7-0 on the season.

“We played outstanding for the first 50 minutes. You have to give credit to Penn State. They kept the pressure on and proved why they are the second ranked team in the country. We will go back to work and keep getting better. We are right on the cusp of breaking through.”
