38006@SASHASCHMID On RETURNING TO THE COURT
“It will be great to get back to competing this weekend. We have a lot of respect for Illinois and are looking forward to a great match. I think this will be a great opportunity for our team.”

HAWKEYES SPLIT ROAD MATCHES
Iowa is 2-2 on the road. The Hawkeyes dropped a close match to Washington State on Feb 3, 4-3, but turned around and defeated SMU on Feb 4, 5-2.

TAKING ON THE FIGHTING ILLINI
Saturday’s match is the 54th meeting between Iowa and Illinois (5-1). Illinois has a slight edge on the all-time record between the two teams, 28-25. Freshman Mia Rabinowitz is ranked No. 92 nationally by the ITA and is 5-1 in the No. 3 position.

NON-CONFERENCE, CONFERENCE MATCHUP
The Hawkeyes were scheduled 11 Big Ten opponents this season. There are 13 other teams in the conference, and head coach Sasha Schmid wanted her team to see them all. Iowa originally did not have Illinois or Northwestern on it’s schedule. Schmid reached out and was able to schedule a meeting with both, although the two matchups will not be counted towards their conference record.

BIG TEN MATCHUPS APPROACHING
Iowa is just a month shy of Big Ten play. Their first three matches are within four days of eachother. On Wednesday March 14 they head to University Park, Pennsylvania and then come home to host Michigan and Michigan State that weekend.

HAWKEYES IN THE RANKINGS
Senior Zoe Douglas and freshman Yufei Long cracked the International Tennis Association (ITA) doubles rankings at No. 41. The pair is 3-0, including a win over the No. 36 ranked Kononova and Kutibidze from North Texas.

LONG STAYS UNDEFEATED
Long has extended her win streak in both singles and doubles, posting a 6-0 and 3-0 record respectively.
