Lerner Climbs 8 Spots in Final Round

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Freshman Dana Lerner climbed eight spots on the leaderboard to lead the University of Iowa women’s golf team in the final round of the Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate at the Cherokee Country Club on Tuesday.
 
No. 15 Kent State won the event (870; +18), Middle Tennessee State finished second (875; +23), and Charlotte and No. 23 Illinois tied for third (876; +24). Iowa finished 17th with a three-round score of 939 (+87).
 
LERNER LEADS IOWA IN FINAL ROUND
Lerner registered a five-over-par 76 — her best round of the tournament — on Tuesday to jump eight spots on the leaderboard in the final round. She finished with a 54-hole score of 236 (+23) to tie for 75th.
