2 Hawkeyes Head to Atlanta for USA Diving World University Trials

IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa divers Sam Tamborski and Anton Hoherz head to Atlanta to compete in the USA Diving World University Trials. Hoherz will compete solely on the platform, while Tamborski will compete off the 3-meter springboard.  
 
The trials will take place at the McAuley Aquatic Center on the campus of Georgia Tech University. Prelims and finals for both Tamborski and Hoherz will be held on Dec. 21 beginning at 11 a.m. (CT).
 
Tamborski, a freshman from Castle Rock, Colorado, ranks second on the team off both the 3-meter and the 1-meter this season. Her career-best score of 341.85 off the 3-meter came at the Hawkeye Invitational, reaching NCAA Zone qualifying standard. She also holds a qualifying standard off the 1-meter with a score of 294.05.
 
Hoherz, a sophomore from Spring, Texas, has posted NCAA Zone qualifying standards off the 1-meter (341.40), 3-meter (391.40), and platform (365.35) this season.  Hoherz is Iowa’s school record holder off the platform with a score of 415.65 and he has the second-best 3-meter score (391.40) in school history.
