Iowa Seeded 8th Overall in Final NCAA Top-16 Reveal

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa women’s basketball team was selected as a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Women’s Basketball Selection Committee’s final top-16 reveal. The announcement was made Monday on ESPN2.
 
If the season ended today, the Hawkeyes would be the No. 8 overall seed, and host the NCAA First and Second Rounds in Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
 
The Hawkeyes finished the regular season with a 23-6 overall record and 14-4 in the Big Ten. Iowa leads the nation in field goal percentage, shooting 52.2 percent. The Hawkeyes are also ranked second in assists per game (22.0) and 12th in scoring offense (80.1).
 
The No. 10/11 Hawkeyes open the 2019 Big Ten Tournament on Friday at 5:30 p.m. (CT). Iowa faces the winner of Thursday’s matchup between seventh-seeded Minnesota and 10th-seeded Indiana.
