PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico – Freshman Manuela Lizarazu leads the University of Iowa women’s golf team through the second round of the Hawkeye-El Tigre Invite, registering a 36-hole score of 151 (+7) on Friday at El Tigre Golf Club. She is tied for 23rd.
Arizona is in first place with an two-round score of 572 (-4). Fresno State (592; +16) and Tennessee (598; +22) are in second and third, respectively. Iowa is in 10th with a 36-hole score of 616 (+40).
LIZARAZU’S STRONG DAY
Freshman Manuela Lizarazu is tied for 23rd after carding five birdies in the second round to finish four-over-par. Sophomore Brett Permann is second on the Hawkeye leaderboard with a 36-hole score of 153 (+9). She tied for 31st.
Freshman Dana Lerner is tied for 38th after registering a two-round score of 154 (+10). Lerner notched three birdies in the first round and one in the second.
Senior Kristin Glesne jumped up one spot on the leaderboard Friday. She is tied for 51st after registering two birdies in the second round.
Sophomore Stephanie Herzog is tied for 56th after shooting 160 (+16) through two rounds.
Senior Shawn Rennegarbe climbed up eight spots on the leaderboard Friday. She recorded one birdie in the second round to finish with a 36-hole score of 160 (+16). She is tied with Stephanie Herzog for 56th. Sophomore Annalee Dannegger and junior Sophie Liu are in 64th and 66th, respectively.
The third round of the Hawkeye-El Tigre Invitational starts tomorrow at 1 p.m. (CT).
