3 Rowers Invited to U23 National Team Training Camp

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Three University of Iowa junior rowers – Hannah Greenlee, Contessa Harold, and Hunter Koenigsfeld — have been invited to the U23 World Rowing Championship Team selection camp in Charlottesville, Virginia. 
 

rowing graphicSelected athletes will travel to the University of Virginia to train with head coach Kevin Sauer for a chance to participate in the 2019 World Rowing Under 23 Championships, July 24-28 in Sarasota-Bradenton, Fla.
 

Harold and Koenigsfeld were named 2018 CRCA All-Americans following their program-best 69 team points at the NCAA Championships. Harold was also named the Big Ten Co-Athlete of the Year.
 

The trio of Hawkeyes are the first selections since Morgan Grasdorf was invited in 2015. Katy Kroll attended the camp in 2012 and 2013. Iowa is second to Washington in selected attendees in the sweep rowing candidate pool.
 

In addition, 11 of the 29 rowers invited into the sweep rowing selection pool were from the Big Ten. 
 

The Hawkeyes will host their first home event since 2016 tomorrow at Lake MacBride against Wisconsin and Minnesota in the Big Ten Double Dual.
