IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa men’s tennis program announced on Monday its 2019-20 spring schedule. The Hawkeyes come off of one of their most accomplished seasons in school history, earning a final ITA Ranking of No. 43 and defending the home court by winning 14 of 16 matches at the Hawkeye Tennis & Recreation Complex (HTRC).
Iowa’s schedule boasts 14 opponents ranked in the top 70 from last spring’s final ITA Rankings. The Hawkeyes will host nine of the 14 at the HTRC (#15 Illinois, #27 Texas Tech, #39 Minnesota, #49 Indiana, #56 Wichita State, #57 Northwestern, #59 Cornell, #61 Louisville, and #68 Middle Tennessee State).
Iowa will host 18 matches at the HTRC in 2020, beginning with Texas Tech on Jan. 16. Twelve of the Hawkeyes’ first 15 matches will be held in Iowa City from Jan. 16 to March 20.
The Hawkeyes return seven student-athletes from last year’s squad and welcome freshman Matt Clegg.
