IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa women’s gymnastics team fell short to the No. 8 Michigan Wolverines, 196.800-195.975, on Friday night. Sophomores Carina Tolan and Mackenzie Vance, and junior Erin Castle earned career bests in their respective events.

“It’s great to see hard work get rewarded,” Iowa head GymHawk Larissa Libby said. “The three that scored career bests are in the gym working their tails off every single day. Carina (Tolan) came to Iowa and didn’t even swinging bars. It just shows how hard she works.”

“The atmosphere was amazing. It was great to see the number of people dress up today. It just goes to show that the work that went into planning was totally worth it. A huge thank you to Hawkeye Nation. They were loud when we needed them to be.”
