11 Hawkeyes Named to National Academic Squad

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Eleven University of Iowa Field Hockey student-athletes were selected to the 2019 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced Tuesday.

Iowa’s 11 honorees tie a program record set last year.

Seniors Ryley Miller, Isabella Solaroli, and Leslie Speight are four-time selections. Junior Ellie Holley and sophomore Lokke Stribos earned their second career selections. Junior Nikki Freeman, sophomore Meghan Conroy, and freshmen Ellie Flynn, Amy Gaiero, Esme Gibson, and Sofie Stribos are first-time selections.

The Division I National Academic Squad program honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the 2019-20 academic year.
