IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa sophomore Lauren Guerin was named Big Ten Specialist of the Week, the conference announced on Thursday.
Guerin earned her first-career Big Ten Specialist of the Week award and the first from a Hawkeye since Mollie Drenth (2015). Guerin helped the Hawkeyes earn two victories last week over Iowa State (March 6) and West Virginia (March 8). The Hawkeyes 196.750 score against the Mountaineers in the best score since 2017.
Against the Mountaineers, Guerin tabbed a 9.900 on vault and her third 9.950 of the season on floor, winning both events. Her floor score was her ninth consecutive score above 9.850. Against the Cyclones, Guerin posted a 9.850 on vault, tying for third.
