Hawkeyes Finish Day 1 of BYU Spring Classic

HURRICANE, Utah — The University of Iowa women’s golf team sits in second after two rounds at the BYU Spring Classic at Sand Hallow Golf Course. The Hawkeyes are +8 (584) after shooting an even par 288 in round one, and 296 in round two. They are three shots back of Texas Tech (+5) heading into the final round tomorrow.

Sophomore Jacque Galloway is in sole possession of second at 142(-2). She’s recorded ten of Iowa’s 38 total birdies, which leads all schools. Freshman Klara Wildhaber is not far behind, as she is 146(+2) and in a tie for sixth with eleven birdies in two rounds. Sophomore Morgan Goldstein is also in the top 10, tied for ninth after her 147(+3) performance on the day which included eight birdies.

Junior Manuela Lizarazu is tied for 16th after shooting a 149(+5). Redshirt senior Sarah Overton is tied for 41st, junior Dana Lerner is tied for 50th, and senior Brett Permann is tied for 57.

The Hawkeyes begin round three at 9:15 a.m. (CT) on Tuesday.
