IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa field hockey team climbed to No. 2 in the latest Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I National Coaches Poll.
The Hawkeyes received nine first-place votes and totaled 909 points. Michigan had 25 first-place votes and have 930 points to claim the No. 1 spot in the rankings.
Iowa is 4-0 through the first two weeks of the regular season for a second straight season. The Hawkeyes defeated No. 11 Wake Forest and No. 1 North Carolina in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge before posting a pair of shutouts over New Hampshire and Boston last weekend.
The Hawkeyes return to action Friday, hosting Ohio at 3 p.m. (CT) at Grant Field. Admission is free.
