Rowing Schedule includes 3 Home Events, Beginning This Weekend on Iowa River

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa rowing team announced Monday it will host three events during the 2021-22 fall and spring seasons.

The Hawkeyes open the fall schedule this Friday and Saturday, hosting Indiana and Wisconsin in a scrimmage on the Iowa River. Friday’s scrimmage begins at 4 p.m. (CT). Saturday’s crews launch at 8:30 a.m.

Iowa entertains on Lake MacBride on consecutive weekends in April, hosting Michigan State and Tulsa on April 23, and Minnesota, Oregon State, UCF, USC and Wisconsin on April 30. The 2022 spring championship season marks the first time in school history Iowa hosts two home competitions.

Other key dates include the Sunshine State Invitational on April 1-2 and the Big Ten Invitational on April 15-16 in Sarasota, Florida, and the Big Ten Championships on Sunday, May 15, in Indianapolis.

The 2022 spring season opens with scrimmages against SMU on Feb. 10 and Feb. 13 in Merritt Island, Florida. The competition season begins March 26 with a trip to Cherry Hill, New Jersey, against Harvard and Yale.
