1: Iowa won the Big Ten West Division title with a 7-2 mark in conference play and will play Michigan on Saturday, Dec. 4, in the Big Ten Football Championship Game. The winner earns the Amos Alonzo Stagg Championship Trophy and a chance to play in one of the six bowls that comprise the College Football Playoff, including the Rose Bowl Game.
2: Iowa has three wins this season over ranked opponents (vs. #17 Indiana, 34-6; at #9 Iowa State, 27-17; vs. #4 Penn State, 23-20) and has won six straight against ranked opponents overall. Only Alabama (10) has more consecutive wins over ranked opponents.
3: Iowa is playing for a trophy this week for the fifth time this season. The Hawkeyes are 3-1 in trophy games this season and 22-5 in their last 27 rivalry trophy games (Iowa State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Wisconsin). The Hawkeyes are 25-5 in their last 30 trophy games (includes bowl games).
4: Iowa leads the country in interceptions (22) and ranks third nationally in takeaways (28). The school record for interceptions in a season is 23 (1986, 1987, 2008). The Hawkeyes have 86 interceptions since 2017, more than any team in the country.
5: LB/DB Dane Belton ties for the NCAA lead with five interceptions. DB Riley Moss has four interceptions and DB Matt Hankins has three interceptions. Eleven different Hawkeyes have at least one interception this season. Iowa is plus-19 in turnover margin in its 10 wins and minus-six in its two losses.
6: C Tyler Linderbaum is one of four finalists for the Rotary Lombardi Award and one of three finalists for the Outland Trophy. He was named a midseason first-team All-American by the Associated Press, Sporting News, CBS Sports, and The Athletic. Linderbaum has made 33 consecutive starts at center. Iowa is 26-7 during that span.
7: QB Alex Padilla has started the last three games, all Iowa wins. QB Spencer Petras had started 17 straight games for the Hawkeyes before missing the Nov. 13 contest against Minnesota. Petras relieved Padilla to start the second half Week 12 at Nebraska and rallied Iowa to a 28-21 victory.
8: WR Charlie Jones ranks second in the Big Ten averaging 8.5 yards on a league-high 34 punt returns. He has returned 23 kickoffs for an average of 26.3 yards per return, No. 2 in the Big Ten. He returned a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown Week 11 against Illinois.
9: RB Tyler Goodson leads Iowa’s rushing attack with 1,101 yards on 238 attempts, both single-season career highs. He rushed for a career-high 156 yards in Iowa’s Week 12 win at Nebraska. It was his ninth career 100-yard rushing game and his fourth this season. In his last four games, Goodson is averaging 5.5 yards per carry and 123.0 yards per game (89 attempts, 492 yards).
10: LB Jack Campbell leads the Hawkeyes and ranks second in the Big Ten with 124 tackles. He is the first Hawkeye to record 100 tackles in a single season since Josey Jewell, who had 100+ tackles each year from 2015-17 (126, 124, 136). Campbell has four double-digit tackle performances (11, 18, 17, 16) this season.
