IOWA CITY, Iowa – Milly Short has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the University of Iowa field hockey program, it was announced Monday by head coach Lisa Cellucci.
“We are so excited to add another outstanding person, student and hockey player to our Hawkeye family,” said Cellucci. “Milly is an extremely versatile player and has an unbelievable presence on the field. We look forward to her getting to Iowa City to help us chase our next Big Ten Championship.”
Short, a midfielder and defender from Worcester, England, was a two-time national finalist, playing for the Stourport Hockey Club. She was the first XI team captain in her final season and the U16 and U18 Stourport Hockey Club captain.
Short is the third signee for the 2022 season, joining graduate transfers Laura Drees and Olivia Frazier. The Hawkeyes will return eight starters and 19 letterwinners from a team that went 17-3, claimed a Big Ten regular season title and advanced to the 20th Elite Eight in program history.
