3 Hawkeyes Named WGCA All-American Scholars

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Three University of Iowa women’s golfers — Jacque Galloway, Dana Lerner and Lea Zeitler — were named Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholars, the WGCA announced Tuesday.

Student-athletes must achieve a 3.50 minimum GPA to be selected. Galloway and Lerner earned their third WGCA All-American Scholar honors, while Zeitler was awarded her second.

Galloway, who graduated with a degree in health and human physiology in May, posted a 77.00 scoring average over 15 rounds during the 2021-22 season. Lerner, a finance graduate, finished with a 79.15 scoring average over 27 rounds and Zeitler, a communication studies major, had a 79.33 average over 21 rounds.

The Hawkeyes will open the 2022 fall season in September, traveling to Albuquerque, New Mexico, for the Dick McGuire Invitational.
