EVANSTON, Illinois – Pilar Oliveros’ goal in the 56th-minute gave sixth-ranked Michigan a 1-0 victory over the eighth-ranked University of Iowa field hockey team on Sunday afternoon in a neutral site, nonconference matchup at Northwestern’s Lakeside Field.
The loss drops the Hawkeyes’ record to 10-6 overall.
Senior Grace McGuire recorded 11 saves in the contest – tying a career high. McGuire has recorded 10 or more saves in consecutive games.
OF NOTE…
– Michigan out-shot Iowa, 19-4, and had a 8-3 advantage in penalty corners.
– The Hawkeyes haven’t scored since the 53rd minute of the James Madison matchup.
