IOWA CITY, Iowa – The 10th-ranked University of Iowa field hockey team will be the No. 5 seed in the 2022 Big Ten Tournament, it was announced Friday by the league office. The Hawkeyes will face fourth-seeded Michigan on Thursday in Columbus, Ohio.
The Hawkeyes and Wolverines will play at 10 a.m. (CT) on Thursday at Buckeye Varsity Field on the campus of Ohio State. The game will be streamed live on B1G+.
Penn State is the No. 1 seed in the tournament, drawing a first-round bye. Two-seeded Maryland will face No. 7 seeded Ohio State at 1 p.m. and No. 3 seed Northwestern will square off against sixth-seeded Rutgers at 4 p.m.
This will be the third meeting between Iowa and Michigan in a 2 ½ week stretch. The Wolverines won 2-0 on Oct. 16 in Ann Arbor and 1-0 on Oct. 23 in a neutral site matchup in Evanston.
