EVANSTON, Ill. – University of Iowa women’s swimming and diving posted five career-best times in its first night of competition against Northwestern, #25 Minnesota and Purdue at the Norris Aquatics Center.
Senior Kennedy Gilbertson highlighted Iowa’s night with two career bests. The Wisconsin native posted the program’s fourth fastest 50 free (22.75) and bettered her fifth all-time 100-back mark with a B-cut 53.66. Freshman Sabina Kupcova joined Gilbertson with a career-best and the program’s eighth fastest 200 IM (2:02.59).
Freshman Meredith O’Malley also found two career-best times during Friday night’s events in the 200 (1:54.98) and 1000 free (10.23.19).
Competition will resume on Saturday, Jan. 28, at 11 a.m. (CT) in the Norris Aquatics Center.
