NAPLES, Fl. – The University of Iowa men’s golf team placed ninth at the third-annual Calusa Cup on Tuesday. Iowa hosted a stacked field at Calusa Pines Golf Club, including four Golfstat top-five ranked teams.
The Hawkeyes posted their low score of the week with a round three score of 299 (+11).
Senior Ronan Kleu finished in front for Iowa with a 227 (+11) total after 54 holes. His third round 73 (+1) matched junior Callum Macfie for a team-best on Tuesday.
Kleu finished ahead of four Golfstat top-15 ranked opponents, climbing seven spots in the final round to tie for 30th.
No. 3 North Carolina shot 860 (-4) for the week to finish in front by 10 strokes. Tarheel Ryan Burnett was the individual medalist, shooting five-under par (211) through 54 holes at the championship venue.

HAWKEYE NOTABLES
- Kleu and Macfie posted nine birdies apiece to lead the Hawkeyes at the Calusa Cup; each golfer recorded five birdies in the third round.
