IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa men’s basketball team will play three games when it travels to France and Spain for its 2023 foreign trip. The Hawkeyes depart for Paris on Aug. 5.
The team’s first game will be played Aug. 8, facing off against the Paris All-Stars in Paris. Game two will be in Valencia on Aug. 11 against the Valencia All-Stars and the finale will be played on Aug. 14 in Barcelona against the Barcelona All-Stars.
All three contests will begin at 7 p.m. local time, which will be noon in Iowa City – in Central Standard Time.
The three games will be played differently than a typical game. The team will split the roster into three groups of seven (with some overlap) with assistant coaches Sherman Dillard, Matt Gatens and Courtney Eldridge coaching one game with their groups.
