The 29th-ranked University of Iowa women’s gymnastics team will travel to Piscataway, New Jersey, to face No. 44 Rutgers inside of Jersey Mikes Arena on Friday, Feb. 9 at 6:00 p.m. (CT).

PREVIEWING THE RUTGERS
• Head coach Umme Salim-Beasley is in her sixth season leading the Rutgers.
• This will be the third meeting between Iowa and Rutgers under Coach Libby.
• Rutgers have gone 3-6 overall and 0-3 in conference competition to start the 2024 season.
• In their home opener, the Rutgers January Quad, Rutgers placed second defeating Southern Connecticut State and Utica.
• Rutgers scored a season-high team score of 195.850 in their recent competition against Penn State.
• The Scarlet Knights have fallen to No. 23 Maryland, Penn State and No. 24 Illinois in their Big Ten matchups this season.
LAST TIME OUT
• The GymHawks fell short to No. 26 Nebraska, 195.725-196.500.
• Emily Erb and Bailey Libby both hit near-perfect routines on floor. Erb captured the event title with a career-high 9.950 and Libby tied for second with a 9.900, matching her career best.
• Karina Muñoz took second overall on vault and tied with Gianna Masella for second place on bars.
• Alexa Ebeling secured a spot in the top two in the beam rotation scoring a 9.850.
• Reigning Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week, Eva Volpe once again bettered her career best in the all-around, posting a 39.200.
