15 Hawkeyes Named to NFHCA National Academic Squad

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Fifteen University of Iowa field hockey student-athletes have been named to the 2023 National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I National Academic Squad.

Iowa’s honorees include Hillary Cox, Lauren DeRose, Celine deWitte, Harper Dunne, Rachel Herbine, Miranda Jackson, Mia Magnotta, Tess Reed, Kelly Rose, Lieve Schalk, Milly Short, Sofie Stribos, Ella Wareham, Gia Whalen and Jacey Witte

Two Hawkeyes —Dunne and Stribos– have each earned the distinction four times in their career.

The NFHCA National Academic Squad, sponsored by OPA Winning Teams, honors collegiate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher through the first semester of the current academic year and were nominated by their NFHCA member coach.

Iowa finished the 2023 season with a 13-6 overall record and an NCAA Sweet 16 appearance.
