Hawkeyes Through Two Rounds at Wake Forest Invitational

PINEHURST, N.C. –  The University of Iowa men’s golf team concluded the first two rounds of play in the Wake Forest Invitational on Monday. The Hawkeyes shot 38-over par (300/298 = 598) and are in 12th place.

Junior Ian Meyer is the low scorer for Iowa at 8-over par. Meyer shot 75 (+5) through the first 18 holes and followed it up with a 73 (+3). Meyer’s back nine in his second round was a bogey free 1-under par. Meyer currently sits in a tie for 38th.

Freshman Noah Kent carded 75 (+5) in his opening round. Kent’s opening round was highlighted by an eagle on a par five. Kent was one of just five golfers in the tournament to eagle on Monday. Kent followed up his first round improving by one stroke shooting a 74 (+4). Kent is in a tied for 46th place.

East Tennessee State currently leads the field at 8-over par. Algot Kleen of East Tennessee State and Daniel Sheedy lead the individual field at 1-under par.
