IOWA CITY, Iowa – South Alabama transfer Tereza Dejnozkova has signed a scholarship tender with the University of Iowa women’s tennis program, it was announced Monday by head coach Sasha Schmid. Dejnozkova will have two years of eligibility with the Hawkeyes.

During her two seasons in Mobile, the Prague, Czech Republic, native won 32 singles and 23 doubles matches. She earned second-team All-Sun Belt honors during the 2023-24 season.

“We are thrilled to welcome Tereza to the University of Iowa,” said Schmid. “I connected with her immediately in the recruiting process, and I am looking forward to coaching her and watching her compete for our program.

“Tereza is a talented player who gained valuable high-level college tennis experience playing for a strong South Alabama program. Competing at the No. 1 singles position during the 2024 spring season gave her high-level matches every weekend. After hearing about Iowa’s great tennis program and the opportunities that the school offers, I got excited as I believe this is a great fit for both my academic and tennis career. I can’t wait to get started.”
