Bio
Lucas Pauley is in his ninth year with the Iowa men’s basketball program, including his fourth as video coordinator.
Pauley assists with film breakdown and compiling player development edits. He also organizes in-depth statistical data and various analytic measures for the coaching staff.
Pauley spent two seasons as a graduate student manager and the first three years a student manager. During his time on staff, the Hawkeyes have competed in six postseasons (four NCAAs and two NITs) and placed in the upper division of the Big Ten in seven of the eight seasons.
Iowa has won 86 games over the last four seasons, including winning four games in four days to capture the 2022 Big Ten Tournament championship and finishing third in the Big Ten standings in 2021, fourth in 2022, and fifth in 2023.
In 2021, Iowa went wire-to-wire ranked inside the Top 15, ascending as high as No. 3. The Hawkeyes were ranked 16th in the final AP Poll of 2022.
Pauley was a member of the staff that helped Luka Garza become the program’s first consensus National Player of the Year in 2021, and Keegan Murray (first team) and Kris Murray (third team) earn consensus All-America distinction.
The native of Farragut, Iowa, graduated from the University of Iowa in Dec. 2018, earning a double major in journalism and sport studies. He also completed a master’s degree in strategic communication in May 2021.
Pauley and his wife, Jessica, live in Iowa City.
