Turner was named an Assistant Director of Communications in 2022. It is Turner’s second time in the office, as he served as a student assistant from 2017-20. Turner returned to Iowa City after serving as an assistant director at North Texas from 2021-22, and as an athletic communications assistant at Middle Tennessee.
In his role with women’s basketball, Turner manages media activities and publicity for the school’s high-profile program. He works with the student-athletes and staff on best practices for speaking with the media, coordinates interview requests, manages game credentials, and works closely with the program’s @IowaWBB creative team. In his time at Iowa, he has promoted one National Player of the Year, one consensus first-team All-America selection and a B1G Player of the Year.
The Boone, Iowa native earned his bachelor’s degree in sports and recreation management from the University of Iowa in 2020.
