The Iowa field hockey team will open up the 2003 season this weekend when theytravel to Ann Arbor, MI, to take part in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. The Hawkeyeswill battle the defending NCAA Champion Wake Forest Demon Deacons Sunday at 11a.m. before taking on North Carolina Monday at 11 a.m. All times are central daylighttime.
The Big Ten/ACC Challenge is in it’s second year of a four-year agreement betweenWake Forest, North Carolina, Michigan and Iowa. The inaugural Challenge washeld last year at North Carolina. Next year’s will be held on the campus of WakeForest, and Iowa will host the 2005 Challenge.
